2021 / Brand Opus Competition Brief - 4 weeks
The brief was to create a new drinks brand with a distinctive & compelling sustainability story at its heart. Through research and ideation I found that there is waste created during coffee production with the cherry fruit that surrounds the coffee beans. The fruit is usually discarded or used as fertiliser but can also be used to make tea which has been proven to have many health benefits.
I chose to base my visual identity on Kenya, a country renowned for its coffee. Taking the name ‘Rafiki’ from the country’s native language, Swahili, which means friend, I create a fun friendly brand that had sustainability at its core.
